3. Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Candidate must fulfill nationality conditions as per Government of India.
  • Educational Qualification: As per branch/cadre (see table above). Minimum 60% marks required in qualifying degree.
  • Special Cases:
    • Merchant Navy Personnel: Eligible with Certificate of Competency for Executive/Technical Branch.
    • Commercial Pilot License Holders: Valid CPL issued by DGCA, India.
    • NCC ‘C’ Certificate Holders: 5% relaxation in cutoff marks for SSB, with conditions:
      • ‘C’ certificate of Naval/Army/Air Wing with minimum ‘B’ Grade.
      • Minimum 2 academic years in Senior Division of NCC.
      • Certificate not dated prior to 01 Jan 2024.

5. Salary & Allowances

  • Sub Lieutenant Pay: Approx. ₹1,25,000 per month + allowances
  • Special Allowances:
    • Pilot / NAOO: ₹31,250/month
    • Submarine: ₹31,250/month
  • Other Benefits: Group Insurance (NGIS), Gratuity, Leave entitlements, Pay & allowances as per rules

6. Important Instructions

  1. Only unmarried candidates are eligible; marriage during training leads to discharge and refund obligation.
  2. Probation period: 2 years, starting from date of commission. Unsatisfactory performance can lead to discharge.
  3. SSB and medical selection is mandatory; no change of SSB center allowed.
  4. Backlogs in any academic subject will disqualify candidates from SSB.
  5. Use or possession of narcotics leads to cancellation/debarment.
  6. All documents must be genuine; false information leads to cancellation at any stage.
  7. Pilot/Submarine allowances given only after successful completion of training.
