Educational & Other Qualification (As on 01 January 2026)

Candidates applying for RBI Office Attendant Recruitment 2025 must fulfill the following educational qualification criteria:

Essential Qualifications

  • The candidate must have passed 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation) from a recognized Board of the concerned State/UT falling under the regional jurisdiction of the recruiting office to which they are applying.
  • Details regarding the regional jurisdiction of recruiting offices are provided in Annex IV of the official notification.
  • The candidate must be an undergraduate as on 01/01/2026.
  • Graduates and candidates possessing higher qualifications are NOT eligible to apply for this post.

Ex-Servicemen Eligibility

  • Ex-servicemen candidates must have:
    • Passed 10th Standard (S.S.C./Matriculation), and
    • Rendered at least 15 years of defence service,
    • Provided they have not graduated outside the Armed Forces.

Language Proficiency

  • Candidates must be proficient in the local language of the State/UT under the recruiting office they are applying for.
  • Proficiency includes the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the language.

Pay Scale & Salary Structure – RBI Office Attendant

Candidates selected for the post of Office Attendant in the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will be appointed in the following pay scale:

₹24,250 – 840 (4) – 27,610 – 980 (3) – 30,550 – 1,200 (3) – 34,150 – 1,620 (2) – 37,390 – 1,990 (4) – 45,350 – 2,700 (2) – 50,750 – 2,800 (1) – 53,550

Initial Salary
Basic Pay: ₹24,250 per month
Approximate Gross Monthly Salary (without HRA): ₹46,029/-

House Rent Allowance (HRA):
An additional 15% of basic pay will be paid as HRA if the employee is not provided with Bank accommodation.

Age Limit (As on 01 January 2026):

To apply for RBI Office Attendant Recruitment 2025, a candidate must be between 18 and 25 years of age as on 01 January 2026. Applicants should have been born between 02 January 2001 and 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive). Candidates outside this date range are not eligible.

Upper Age Relaxation

The upper age limit is relaxable for reserved and special categories as per RBI rules:

  • SC / ST: 5 years (up to 30 years)
  • OBC: 3 years (up to 28 years)
  • PwBD:
    • General / EWS: 10 years
    • OBC: 13 years
    • SC / ST: 15 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Years of defence service + 3 years (maximum age 50 years)
  • Widows / Divorced / Judicially separated women (not re-married):
    • General / OBC: up to 35 years
    • SC / ST: up to 40 years
  • Candidates with RBI work experience: Relaxation equal to years of service (maximum 3 years)

Important Note

Only one type of age relaxation is allowed. Cumulative age relaxation is not permitted under any circumstances.


Scheme of Selection

The selection process for RBI Office Attendant Recruitment 2025 will consist of two stages: an Online Test followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT).


Online Test (Objective Type)

The online examination will be a multiple-choice test consisting of 4 sections. The total duration of the exam will be 90 minutes.

  • Reasoning: 30 questions – 30 marks
  • General English: 30 questions – 30 marks
  • General Awareness: 30 questions – 30 marks
  • Numerical Ability: 30 questions – 30 marks

Total: 120 questions for 120 marks


Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Candidates shortlisted on the basis of the Online Test will be required to appear for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

  • The LPT will be conducted in the official/local language of the concerned State/UT.
  • The test is qualifying in nature.
  • Candidates who are not proficient in the local language (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding) will be disqualified.
  • No exemption will be granted from appearing in the LPT.
  • LPT will be conducted at the respective RBI Regional Offices.

Important Note:

  • Except for General English, all sections of the online test will be available in English, Hindi, and selected regional languages.
  • Negative marking is applicable: ¼ mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • Candidates must qualify each section separately.
  • Detailed exam instructions will be provided in the Information Handout, available with the admit card.
  • Roll numbers of candidates shortlisted for LPT will be published on the RBI website.
  • If the exam is conducted in multiple sessions, normalization of marks will be done using the equi-percentile method as per IBPS standards.
  • Only candidates scoring sufficiently high in merit (as decided by RBI based on vacancies) will be called for LPT.

Final Selection:

Final selection will be based on:

  • Performance in the Online Test (merit order)
  • Qualifying the LPT
  • Medical fitness
  • Document verification

The final decision of the Reserve Bank of India will be binding and final.
